RE: Check pressure Relief valve ??

These are generic and basically idiot proof. They are designed so if they do ever go bad they leak/open. BUT, leaking in most cases does not mean the valve is bad. RV systems are sealed so any increase in temperature such as the water heater provides create pressure and expansion of the water. Unlike home water heaters, RV water heaters are designed with an air pocket that can compress when the water heats/expands. This air can be absorbed over time and the valve will weep when the water heats up as it senses the expansion/increase in pressure. The cure is to partially or fully drain the water heater and refill this will create a new air pocket. Areas with extremely hard water may over time if you use the relief valve in draining the water heater may build up calcium deposits on the sealing surface and cause weeping as well. In that case rather than trying to clean them off we replace the valve. Believe it or not it's the same valve used on home hot water heaters. That's how generic they are. Thats it. Couldnt have said it better.

RE: What else can be done with turkey fryer pot?

On a cool weekend enough Gumbo for the whole campground. YUM Keep in mind that most of the pots that come with these cookers are so thin that most sauces or chowders have a good chance of scorching unless stirred a lot,on low heat.I burned a batch of seafood marinara once($45.00 worth of seafood)

RE: using water pump & "city water" together

I use an adjustible regulator that has a pressure guage built in to it.I bring it up to 60psi when I have a low flo situation. We have stayed at parks with over 90psi,not good for your plumbing.Very possible ,like others wrote , you may even have a faulty regulator or a restriction.I have worked on units that have never had there city water inlet screen cleaned since new.Thats going to reduce pressure.

RE: Never deal with THOR credit

Yup, my phone rings also.I wonder if some of the posters here have ever had a financial fallout because of the economy.I feel for ya brother ,but it is,what it is.I suffered through this recession******in the late 80's,so far Its not as bad.But to be honest, when push comes to shove,my family comes first. You guys can judge people all you want, but these credit companies are failing because of there own stupid lending practices.

RE: patapsco valley state park, baltimore?

The problem is the office where you check in is on the opposite side of campground,so what we did was came in from the west and took the toad off.Its about a 5-10 minute walk from that side of the park.

RE: Tapping into existing wire to add 12v outlet

I never recomend tapping into existing wires for this purpose. You could easily overload the small guage wire.On my old trailer I set up a seperate fuse block from battery and snaked wires for 12volt outlets.Much safer.

RE: Looks Like Another SCAM to Me

I got something on the same lines as you last year.I knew it was a scam, but had some fun with the guy.The address he gave me was a storage unit in Great Britain.I must have sent him 20 e-mails explaining how I only got a partial address,or my computer crashed ,or could he make the check out larger than what he wanted and we could split the differance. The big dummy kept up with me for awhile.

RE: Wrangler weights

I weighed my 2000 auto when I first bought it used and it was under 4000 with the soft top.I had a 91 before that and wish I had it back . It was a 2.5 but with the small tires it was okay on the highway. The 2000 has a 6 and has enough power, but the same feel.

RE: Home made portable waste tank any ideas?

(quote)I dont want to steal this thread, but with these portable tanks, has anyone forgotten or not paid attention when it gets full?(quote) I got the blue tank thing down to a science.I made a short hose with female connectors on each end,so I can control it better.I stay at some state parks for weeks at a time.Every three days I spend an hour or so going back and forth to dump station.Works out well.

RE: Storage Questions

Leave it unplugged and install a battery disconnect switch at battery post.Show your wife how to throw the switch.Even make a little video on how to do it,so she can do it any time she wants.
